Symphony of vibration

Cal Exotics sent me the Symphony Massager for a Sexpert review. I was a little more pleased with this toy than I have with a lot of the new toys Cal Exotics has been offering. The shape is very reminiscent of the Liberte vibe. It looks like a small personal back massager. The vibrator comes in a clear box, you know, the unmistakable "I'm a sex toy" box that so many toys come in. It is clear, you can see exactly what the toy looks like without ever needing to open the box, which is nice if you are in a physical toy store. The vibrator is in the tip of the toy, always a plus when it comes to feeling the vibrations. The width is only 1.5 inches, but it really has no bearing due to the fact that this is clitoral vibrator. There are five different vibrations you can get with the Symphony:
Moderate (vibe)
Intense (vibe)
TangoQuickstep
Samba

It is also waterproof. The end cap is tight enough that I did have to fight it to get it off the vibrator, but it is well worth the trade to be totally waterproof, in my opinion. There is a single button to go through all the functions (not something I prefer, but it works) located about the lower middle of the toy. The Symphony is shaped to be held comfortably in your hand for solo play, and even has an indent for a finger for added clitoral pressure for those who need it (aka ME). The Symphony is delightfully discreet for the most part. I mean, if you know sex toys you will likely know what it is off the bat, but for others it isn't as obvious. I am actually able to leave mine on my bookshelf next to the bed. I keep my massage oil by it, and no one ever notices it, not even my nosy little 5 year old.
As far as how well it works, I can say that while it did work it was great. Every set of batteries I put in died very fast, but I am assuming that is likely the specific toy I received and not the whole set. The vibrations were not as deep and rumbly as I like, but I know a lot of women who prefer the more high pitched vibrations...if you're one of them, this is an awesome vibrator for you. On a total upside you are free to use either water or silicone based lubricants without fear of damaging your new toy. When the batteries begin to die you will notice that the toy will only to the steady vibration levels for you. It is an excellent indicator that it is time to change batteries.

As I said on actual use before, mine ate through batteries very very quickly. Before it began to die rapidly I did get some great play time in with it. The Symphony is not the mind blowing, orgasm delivering strength some of us prefer, but because of the ease of adding pressure with your own hand the toy is simple to use and does deliver smaller orgasms (for me anyway). I had to use a lot of added pressure, but for someone who likes external stimulation (hell you can really use the Symphony anywhere you damn well please) the Symphony offers a great amount of stimulation. This is awesome for someone who may be newer to toys and wants something simple, with multi-speed options, and discreet. While I might recommend this for people who have a lot of experience with toys, it wouldn't be the first toy I would recommend to them.

Way too expensive for such a small motor

The Sexpert review for the month is the Cal Exotics 7 function remote bullet. Now, the bullet is really bulkey, 1 inch thick x 3.75 inches long. I am used to much smaller bullets, but since this was made for vaginal insertion and wear-ability I can certainly understand (it needs to be large enough that the average woman can hold it in with little to know effort). There is a cord for easy removal on the base of the bullet, so removing the bullet is next to effortless, much like removing a giant tampon.

The bullet comes with a remote control for use from a distance. Now, you can use this alone for self stimulation, or you can hand your remote off to a partner for some surprising fun. There is an on/off button, a function button, and a vibration control. So, while you do get 7 functions you are really getting much more than that because of the differing levels of vibration. This is by far the best feature of the toy as a whole.

For actual use? The bullet is strong and all, but only as an external stimulator. I was bored having it inserted. The only way to really feel much is to have it on high, and people can certainly hear that. And on that note, discreetness is virtually non-existence with the remote control bullet. It is loud and even while wearing it, someone near you will hear it, I have doubt about that in my mind. Tried, and confirmed. We were out to diner and when he turned it on he could hear it. So I took the controls. When I turned it on, he could hear it. He had no idea when I would be pushing buttons. And while I could feel the vibrations while wearing it, they were nothing more than an annoying buzz coming from within my vaginal walls...nothing worth remembering three minutes later.
The biggest issue with this toy? Batteries. Seriously. I have no idea why anyone would have a toy on the market using a 12v battery and watch batteries. Neither are cost effective at $6 plus per package, and you only get 2 12v in a pack, and they only last about two hours. Pointless, in efficient and not cost effective, not to mention, have you ever tried to buy watch batteries for a toy? Do you have any idea how many sizes there are? Hello people!!! And 12v batteries aren't exactly sitting around waiting to be used, I had to go to four stores to even find one pack of those stupid batteries.
Would I recommend this to anyone? Hell no. Especially when I got 20 minutes of use from the bullet and the controller only lasted 2 hours on the most expensive batteries you can get your hands on. This toy could have easily accommodated a AA battery with no issue, so why would I ever suggest to throw money away on overpriced and hard to find batteries?

Passion Flower G

I have thought long and hard on how to write this particular review...so here you have it:

What is that thing?
It is the Passion Flower G made by California Exotics, a vibrator made for women. The end curves to hit the g-spot while the two nubs are located to offer not only clitoral stimulation, but some anal stimulation as well. It is made of TPE which can be cleaned with a toy cleaner and warm water or a quick rub down with alcohol (no, not the kind you drink), and it can be used with either silicone or water based lubricants. It is only 1 inch wide and is about 3 3/4 inches long, so it is a relatively small toy. There is a bullet located at the base with a push button control with one vibration setting. The flower part of the toy is meant to be added stimulation, because let's face it, some women need clitoral stimulation to reach an orgasm.

How well does it work?
Well...that is where it gets a bit tricky. First off, I think the stem that is meant for vaginal insertion greatly resembles ET's finger, which to me is kind of gross (but hey, no judgments here). The stem part fails to hit my g-spot, but we are all different. The biggest issue though is the material, because it is so pliable that it doesn't carry the vibrations well at all, and is too soft to even begin to offer g-spot stimulation {for me}. Basically it was like being finger fucked by a 15 year old boy who just wants to hit a home run; you can feel it, but it isn't all that interesting.

The flower...oh my. The clitoral stimulator doesn't do too much for me, but I can imagine that some women might really enjoy this. It does vibrate fast and it is soft enough that no real discomfort is actually possible. But, if you need pressure you are SOL. The anal stimulator...haha...no. It does nothing, nada, zip, zilch. I felt nothing, I didn't even realize it was there. I would be more specific, but really, I felt nothing at all. The petals vibrate some, so if you like having your labia played with this can be a benefit for you.

I don't like anal play...
Don't worry, this feature didn't work. There, feel better now?

Can I share this toy?
Sure, with a toy cover...I would recommend a condom, but I am not sure they run this small. The upside? If you are new to toys this won't be too large for your first one :)

What did you like the least? The most?
Well, I liked the overall concept, and if you like toys like this, well great! It is wonderful to have a triple stimulation toy on hand (if it works). But, I don't care much for TPE because if you have pubic hair it will catch, stick and tug. That is so not sexy at all and can ruin a toy for you. Also, it had little slits for straps, I was all cool, it has straps, but then it didn't. Then I was all you have to buy straps separate, well that's stupid. If you are going to make a strap on vibrator for women, put a set of straps in the box please, it's just rude not to.

Overall this would be a nice toy if it came with straps, was silicone (for the stiffness), and reached any of the spots it was supposed to. I was really disappointed, but in my opinion vibes like these often fall short.

Just....no

Ok, so I have mulled over this review long enough. I have tried everything I can think of to enjoy my latest toy from California Exotics. The nice people at Cal Exotics sent me the Support Plus Extended Ring Head Exciter for a Sexpert review.

Let me tell you, when I opened the box and saw the toy my head fell as I shook it. This is not the type of toy J and I would ever {even in a million years} would purchase, so I was beyond lost. I am well aware of my natural aversion to these toy types. I put all my preconceived thoughts aside as I opened the box and washed of the toy. The first issue I had with the Exciter was the material {TPR}. As great as TPR can be, let's be honest...it sucks if you have any form of pubic hair. TPR is sticky, and sticky pulls out hair OUCH.

A few notes on the toy itself in case you may be wondering.

  • There are two half circles in the base that are made of steel {I am guessing they kind of act like a cock ring}. I would have liked a whole ring, but that is just me.
  • There are three steel pleasure nubs in the TPR on the shaft {I got no enjoyment from them because of the TPR sticking to me}. These are pronounced enough that {with enough lube} they should offer enjoyment though.
  • TPR ~ You can use either water based or silicone based lubricants with this material.
  • The width is about 1.5 inches...I got mine stretched over 3 inches {you wish boys...you wish}
So, I tried this in multiple ways...including as a pleasure sleeve on some toys...no. Just no. When there was a ton of lube on the toy I was able to enjoy it for a few seconds, but that never lasted long before hairs were torn out. I really tried to have J try it, but he just laughed and said "you've lost your fucking mind." Well, that wasn't very nice, now was it? Apparently my screams and yelps of agony were enough to deter him from being remotely willing to help with the review at all. I suppose with some lube a man could slip this on, but then I would worry about it slipping off, or even being able to get it off without pain.

I am truly sorry I wasn't able to provide a better response to this toy {and if I run across other reviews of it I will certainly post them as links...Sexperts only though}. I would normally offer up a "this toy would be better if..." but I just can't think of anything that could improve this particular design for me... :(

Thank you California Exotics for allowing me to review this toy!

Spellbound....your spell didn't last

Ok, back to the internet. Sorry, I was offline for a while; then J came home from Iraq on unexpected leave, so life hase been a bit nuts over here. Anyway, I have a new review for you:

The Spellbound "G"

Specs:
1.25 inches thick
6.75 inches long
Made of plastic with a Velvet-Cote
Curved tip for G-spot stimulation
Turn dial on the base of the vibrator
Uses 2 C size batteries
Waterproof
"Enhanced Pleasure Ring"

Review:

Well where do I even begin? I am not a size queen, as a matter of fact, I prefer smaller toys that are thin to the the thicker toys. When I first saw the "G" I kinda freaked; I mean really, what was I supposed to say? I don't really care about the girth part of a vibrator, and I don't keep C batteries in my house. My first assumption was that the "G" must have some power to it, well I was right on that one! The size of the batteries used in a vibe is usually a good indicator of how powerful the toy will prove to be. In this case it was pretty dead on.

This is technically a "multispeed" vibrator, but if you know about Cal Exotics you already know about their tendency to put the speed on a dial at the base of the toy. Do I like this? Yes. Does everyone? Probably not, but since this is my personal review, all I care about is my opinion :) The turn-dial power is nice because you can add power gracefully and without that sudden jolt with an increase in speed. The vibrations are super strong, and anyone who likes their sensations will love that feature.

There is also a ring to enhance pleasure around the stem of the toy. Unfortunately, this ring fell short on doing its job. I was not impressed by it at all. In fact, I didn't even know it was supposed to have a purpose until today (oops). I never felt the ring, so no pleasure came from it at all. A second short coming in my eyes was the curved tip. I will say that for some people that stiff curved tip is just what the doctor ordered to get their engines going when it comes to G-spot stimulation, I am not one of those people. I found the curve to be too thick and very uncomfortable. Actually, I found the toy as a whole to be rather uncomfortable. I am not genuinely impressed, because I just don't like large toys...but that's just me!

Now the "G" is waterproof, and I made sure to test that feature out for everyone! Since it's waterproof you can use it in the shower or bath. The "G" is coated in what is called a Velvet-Cote so only certain lubricants can be used on it. You can use water based and silicone lubes safely on the "G" without damaging it, but oil based lube is a no-no. To clean the "G" I strongly recommend a toy cleaner made specially for your toys just to protect the integrity of the toy and to make it last as long as possible.

Overall, I would not say I enjoyed the "G" very much. If you like girth, well this may be your toy, but if you prefer a smaller toy, veer in another direction. The rigidity of the "G" didn't appeal to me, so I am not able to give an amazing review to the "G," but I am making sure you have all your information, and if I see more reviews I will be sure to post a link or two for you :)

A Stud with some POWER

Thanks to California Exotics I had the chance to review the new Power Stud vibrator. What makes this vibrator stand apart from others? Well, simply put, it's corded. It is a plug in vibrator that packs some punch. At almost 8 inches long, 5 of those being insertable, and a good girth of nearly a full 1.5 inches in diameter this is not you basic skinny vibe. It is so much more!

When I opened my box and saw my new toys my eyes popped. Well, Cal Exotics has made a rather girthy, bright pink, plug in vibrator! Holy Crap! In true California Exotics fashion the Power Stud (a well earned name) has the basic hallmarks of a Cal Exotis toy, right down to the dial power base (not my favorite way to turn the toy off and on though).

The Power Stud is made of TPE (or TPR) which is more jelly like than anything, but not nearly as porous. Unfortunately TPE is still mildly porous, so it cannot be fully disinfected, you can however clean it with warm water and a mild toy cleanser (my suggested method). If you do feel like sharing your toy you need to utilize condoms and be careful (unless you are fluid bonded of course). The TPE is kind of sticky and attracts lint and all that good crap, so keep some baby wipes handy while you use this one. Also, the smell, which can only be noticed if you have it to your face reminds me of nail polish...yuck.

On to the shape and feel of my new friend. Well, the shape is basic. Like a cock. That's it. Veins, head, everything, very well done. Well, except...the base. I am not sure what the hell happened here on this one, but I certainly hope this wasn't an attempt at testicles because WOW, that failed. It looks vaguely like three testicles circled around a cock. Other than that it is your basic TPE/TPR toy, sticky and jelly like. Soft and fun for use, just a lot more body safe.

The bullet is lodged up closer to the head which allows for more of the vibrational focus to be on the head of the toy. Better feeling inside, as well as for a better clitoral stimulant. Basically all you do is plug it in and turn the dial and you are set to go. My major complaint is that you must be close to an outlet. Luckily Cal Exotics saw that one coming and the cord is over 6 feet long, so you have plenty of play room. This is a great toy alone or with a partner. The vibrations are strong and deep and allow for a deep thrusting motion with them your your basic and fast clit play. All in all, this isn't an overly loud vibrator, at least not for its size. I heard no sounds through a closed door and under a sheet, so you are good to go if you have roommates!

Safety Warning: Please do not take this toy into the water IT HAS A CORD!!!! It is not waterproof and you could potentially be electrocuted.

Noise Level: 3/5
Vibration Level: 4/5
Value for Price: 3/5
(only because of the plug in...at nearly $40 I think it's a bit costly)

Random Review: Sexpert Review of Intimate Foreplay Kit

Ok, so I am doing Random Review Saturdays for now on. I will bring up a review from the past and update it with new information and let you know if I still like the product.

Random Review Saturday:

Sexpert Review of the Intimate Foreplay Kit by California Exotics

Last month Cal Exotics sent me an Intimate Foreplay Kit that had not yet been released. I am not going to re~review the whole thing, so to see the original review please click here.

Recently my Kit met an untimely death. Not the fault of Cal Exotics. I cannot stress this enough. I tossed a book onto my bed and it landed (apparently just right) on one of the attachments and split it up the seam. I was devastated. The upside? I did learn that even if it cracked the attachment would still screw onto the bullet. That is kind of cool.

I haven't tried the attachment internally because I am not all about bacteria build up, and it is plastic, but it still works just fine for all types of external stimulation. So, having said that...if you happen to break yours and plan to only use it externally you can get by with super gluing the crack back together. Gluing is not necessary, however, being that it will still screw and hold on to the bullet piece of the kit.

Now, I would like to address why I do not fault the craftsmanship of the product for it breaking. Well, I have several, and have had several in the past, California Exotics toys. Never before have I had a single toy break like this. Sometimes we have a toy that breaks randomly and we can no longer use it. It's kind of like a car. Sometimes you just get one that wasn't as strong as the rest. It doesn't mean the whole company is at fault. Just that one car. I still recommend this Kit to all those who are new to toys. It will open up worlds of opportunities you were never aware of before.

Thank you again to California Exotics for allowing me to review this toy.

Edward broked it : I sad now :(

Ok, so while I was cleaning last night I was tossing stuff on the bed. Two of those things were my Intimate Foreplay Kit by Cal Exotics and my Twilight paperback. I tossed my paper back version of Twilight onto my heavily padded, and I do mean heavily. Seriously. My bed has a foam topper on top of it, and down comforter on it. When Twilight landed on top of the curved attachment and broke it. Broke it. On a padded bed. All I can think is that I got the weak one or that the book hit it right on the seam in just the right spot. But, either way, it broke.

What girl doesn't love a bit of foreplay?

I answered my door the other day and my neighbor had my dog. Again. He's a sneaky little thing who keeps digging holes and waiting at doors for someone to let him in after his potty breaks. Well I noticed a plain package on the door step and I didn't recognize the address so I opened it then and there in front of my very Christian neighbor. What was inside the package? A California Exotics Intimate Foreplay Kit. Oh the look on her face...I simply said "oh, I had better call and see what this is about," smiled and came inside. The invoice was for Sexperts. I was chosen as one of 100 people who will be reviewing products for the California Exotics Blog. I am so giddy and excited!!!

So I tore open my new toy and tested all the parts out to be sure everything worked and began reviewing.

California Exotics Intimate Foreplay Review:

The Basics:

The California Exotics Intimate Foreplay Kit is a small kit featuring a corded bullet with three different heads for use. The toy is plastic, so nonporous and is Phthalates and Latex free, as well as hypo-allergenic. Plastic is easy to care for; warm water and soap (preferably a toy cleaner) or wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Easy as can be. I like that. An added plus to plastic toys is you can use any any lubricant you want without damaging the toys. Yay!

The kit included the battery pack which takes two AA batteries. I would have preferred no cord and for the batteries to be in the bullet, but that might have taken some of the strength of the motor away, so I guess it's ok. The base of the bullet has bumps, which are not as hard as they look on the top of it for stimulation. Around the bullet there is threading where the other two tips screw on. The second tip is a finger tip with a rubbery area with soft nubs, and the third is a curved beehive shaped tip that is great for insertion. The whole kit is velvet-cote so it is soft and sensual, wonderful for partner play and romantic moments.

I didn't care too much for the battery pack. It almost seemed cheaply made. The plastic is very light and the closure on the back had trouble staying closed a few times. The on/off is controlled by a circular control. Turn it all the way down and it is off, just turn it up to turn it on. The plus side of this type of control is the subtlety in changing speeds, I like the gradual change with no sudden stop and start again. The down side is that there are no other functions, only speeds. Also, if you touched it just so it would turn up or down. A light indicated when it was on, which is nice because if the bullet is not plugged in you will know if you accidentally turned it on. The cord also plugs in snugly, so it won't just fall out while playing like some do.

How well it worked for me:

The Intimate Foreplay Kit by California Exotics offers up a powerful vibration. As well as the powerful vibration there is a loudness to it, but I will gladly take the noise in exchange for the vibration level. As I used the bullet kit, and I was pleased. It didn't give me life changing orgasms or anything, but I did enjoy it. I used the first nubby tip as a clitoral stimulator. I found the bullet alone was a little bit too hard for me to use there, but it gave great vibrations to my nipples. The finger tip head provided a good vibration and was great for clitoral stimulation as well as insertion. With deep powerful vibes the fingertip head focused the vibrations through the nubbed pad on the flat side. The ribbed, for lack of better words, head was my personal favorite. The ribbed tip of the bullet offered up focused vibrations through the tip, which forced the vibes into a concentrated area. Because it is curved I was able to angle it more easily and use it easier than the other two as well. Know what else? It can hit your G-Spot (although bullets really aren't made for insertion). Because of the size of the bullet and the tips you can get anywhere from 2.5 inches to 4.5 inches of insertable length.

Overall, I adored this kit! It is super cute, non intimidating for those newer to toys, and easy to use as well as has a ton of power! Even the packaging is great. A simple package showing a couple and the kit contents. Nothing disturbing, it is kept classic and clean. Even those new to toys would appreciate that. The are no instructions included, but I think the kits is pretty self explanatory. This is a great way to explore yourself and your partner. If you have never owned a vibrator before this would be a great starter kit. You get a bullet that converts basically to a vibrator with three different tips to experiment with.

A few safety notes:

*Be sure to clean your toys before the first use and after each use.
*Take you batteries out to prolong battery life.
*Please do not stick the bullet in your rear! Just because there is a cord doesn't mean it won't break off and you are stuck with a bullet in your butt. While the ER staff will be tickled, you will not be laughing.
*I don't recommend this, or any corded toy be taken into water. It's just a bad idea.
*I know this can be sanitized, but I always recommend condoms when sharing toys; better safe than sorry.
